E.T.P. Operating Procedure | How does ETP work

Collect the process effluent in the Collection Tank (CT) through the wire mesh screen (SC) provided at the inlet. Open the air delivery valve located above the collection tank so as to mix the effluent through the agitation caused by the air diffuser under the water.

Start the feed pump (FP-1) to pump the effluent from collection tank to Reaction tank (RT). Control the flow if required, by opening return line valve. Once reaction tank is full, start the agitator. Add required flocculent and settling chemicals, pre determined by lab. Agitate the content of reaction tank till they got completely mixed.</>Stop the agitator and leave the effluent for overnight to allow the flock to settle at the bottom. Drain the clarified water from RT into Primary Treated Water Tank (PTWT) very slowly without disturbing the contents. Do not allow the sludge to pass into PTWT.

How does ETP work

Add Urea / DAP in the required amount in the PTWT on regular basis.

Start the pump (FP–2) to pump treated effluent from PTWT into Aeration Tank 1 (AT 1), control the flow rate by opening the return valve. Aeration in AT-1 should be in a continuous manner. The treated effluent will flow into secondary Tube Settler TS-1 by gravity. Clear effluent will flow into AT-2 and solid sludge can be drained from the bottom into Sludge Drying Bed (SDB).

The clear effluent from AT–2 will flow into TS-2 by gravity. The clarified water will flow into a clear (treated) water tank (CWT). The sludge can be drained into SDB Now pump the treated water into Pressure Sand Filter (PSF) and Activated Carbon Filter (ACF). The filtered water can be handover to CETP.

The dry sludge from SDB is to be stored separately in air/water-tight containers to hand over to WML. Use hand gloves, masks & helmets during work.

The Operational Log Book (F-E0XX-XX) should be maintained regularly.

IMPORTANT NOTES

The oil level of the blower must be checked daily. There should be adequate oil in it. Ensure that no pump runs dry. Use a stand-by pump, if any, alternatively. Only clean water from the Reaction Tank must be passed on to Primary Treated Water Tank.

The plant should be operated continuously. In case Incoming effluent is less in volume, then re-circulate water by opening the re-circulating line valve. While using pressure filters, multi-point valve must not be operated while the pump is running. To change the position of the multi-point valve, stop the pump first.
