Analytical Balance Calibration SOP | Moisture Analyzer Procedure

OBJECTIVE: To lay down the procedure for ANALYTICAL BALANCE operation.

SCOPE

This procedure applies to the Quality Control Department of QC.                                                   

Responsibilities

QC chemists Lab analysts follow the SOP.
Head – QA & QC for implementation of SOP.

Operation and Calibration of ANALYTICAL BALANCE

PROCEDURE OPERATION

Level the instrument with the help of leveling screw so that the bubble of spirit level is in center.

Connect the instrument to the power supply.
Press ON to bring the balance to operational read lines.

The balance display is Zero and is ready for operation.

Place the weighing materials on the weighing balance.

Note down the result.

PRECAUTION OF ANALYTICAL BALANCE

Ensure that the instrument is cleaned before and after use.

All the repair work of the balance must be done only with the power main being switch off.

Calibration and Operation of MOISTURE ANALYZER

To lay down the procedure for MOISTURE ANALYZER operation.

SCOPE

This procedure applies to QC/QA Department.
MOISTURE ANALYZER.

RESPONSIBILITIES

QC chemists to prepare and follow the SOP.
Head – QA, and QC for implementation of SOP.

PROCEDURE 

Switch ON the Moisture Analyses at least 30 min before starting the test.

Before the test, the display must be ZERO. Tare the moisture Analyzer if required.

Set the temperature at 1100 -1350 C.

Take approx. 0.2-0.4 g of the crushed sample
Place it on the Moisture analyzer plate and closed the lid.

It will be starting automatically.

Moisture values are shown on the Screen after complete analysis of a sample.          

Switch OFF the instrument, if not in use.
