SOP for Cleaning and Sanitization of Colour Mixer Tank.

1.0 OBJECTIVE

1.1 To lay down the procedure for Cleaning and Sanitization of the Colour Mixer Tank & the Colour Stirrer Tank. SOP for Sanitization of plant 

2.0 SCOPE

2.1 This procedure applies to the Production of a Company name. 

3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 Maintenance Officer / Shift Officer & online QA to follow the SOP.

3.2 Head – Production & QA for compliance of SOP.

4.0 PROCEDURE

4.1 CLEANING OF COLOUR MIXER TANK & COLOUR STIRRER TANK

4.1.1 Switch off the main power supply of the Color Mixture Tank and Color Stirrer Tank. 

4.1.2 Hang the tag ''MAN AT WORK DO NOT OPERATE'' on the electrical panel.

4.1.3 Empty the tank completely through the bottom drain line. 

4.1.4 Clean the inside of the tank, from top to bottom, using hot water. 

4.1.5 Drain the washings through a bottom drain line. 

4.1.6 Repeat the process as point no. 4.1.4 (Do not drain the tank at this stage). 

4.1.7 Circulate the washing through related pumps and pipelines. Then collect the washing completely through the bottom drain line. 

4.1.8 Check and ensure that the internal surface of the tank is clean. If cleaning is unsatisfactory, repeat stage 4.1.4 till the tank is thoroughly clean. 

4.2 SANITIZATION OF COLOUR MIXER TANK & COLOUR STIRRER TANK 

4.2.1 For disinfection, use Sodium Hypo chloride solution of strength 200 ppm available chlorine. 

4.2.2 Contact time with hypo chloride solution should be 5 minutes minimum, but in no case, should it exceed 10 minutes.                                             

4.2.3 Circulate the washing through related pumps and pipelines. Then collect the washing completely through the bottom drain line. 

4.2.4 As soon as draining is over, give a final rinse with 80 ०C water (The tank is now ready for use)

4.3 PREPARATION OF 200 PPM SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE SOLUTION 

4.3.1 Add 5 ml of 4% sodium hypo chloride in 1000 ml water. 

4.3.2 Fill the record in equipment Cleaning & Sensitization record format. 

4.4 FREQUENCY:    Half Yearly
 
Note:  
* Do not use Formalin for sensitization.
* All collected washing should be stored outside the plant for further movement to manage Waste.
